"There's something very special about this long established Dance School"

Bristol Post

Welcome

Founded in 1935, Westbury Park Dance Centre has a rich history of providing exceptional dance training in North Bristol. Originally established by Bettie Vowles, the School was renamed and relaunched in 1999 by Bettie’s eldest daughter Pauline and Pamela Wingfield – a past student of Bettie’s and founder of the Wingfield School of Ballet. Today, the School is run by Sammy Loffler, a former student of Pamela and Pauline, who is dedicated to continuing the School’s work to inspire a love of movement where all students are supported to achieve their personal goals.

Home to more than 300 students from three to adult and four fully qualified and experienced dance teachers, we offer a range of lessons including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, contemporary and musical theatre. Students have the opportunity to be prepared for examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance (ballet), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (tap, modern and jazz) or participate in the Trinity College Arts Award, for which students obtain excellent results.

Students gain confidence and performance experience with our popular shows and school events held throughout the year, making friendships and memories that last long into adulthood. Our popular adult classes welcome those with a range of prior dance experience whether you are returning to dance for enjoyment, fitness or to continue with previous training.

Dozens of past pupils have progressed into the professional world of dance, taking careers with English National Ballet, Scottish and Harlem, Italia Conti and Birmingham Royal Ballet as well as performing in West End productions or training to be dance teachers themselves.

The School has a real sense of professionalism and discipline, but most importantly a sense of fun runs through our classes.

“Even after a long day at school, my daughter is always excited for her dance lessons - it's such a welcoming place and each child is listened to and made to feel special."
